onetoeight. Chrome extension
Version 1.0.0
============================

WHAT THIS IS
------------
The eight essentials, with the narration, in a panel beside whatever else you are
doing. Nine recordings: the introduction and the eight chapters. Fourteen lines
worth keeping. And three quiet minutes, for when you need to stop.

It is made to be put away. There are no notifications, no streaks and no scores.
Listen, take your three minutes, close the panel and go and do something.

HOW TO INSTALL
--------------
The extension is not in the Chrome Web Store yet, so it installs in about two
minutes as an "unpacked" extension. That is a normal thing to do, not a
workaround.

1. Download the zip file and unzip it. You will get a folder of files. Put that
folder somewhere you will not delete it, such as Documents. If you delete the
folder later, the extension stops working.

2. Open Chrome. Type this into the address bar and press Enter:

      chrome://extensions

3. Turn on "Developer mode", using the switch in the top right corner.

4. Click "Load unpacked", then choose the folder you unzipped. Select the folder
   itself, do not open it.

5. It is now installed. Click the puzzle piece icon in Chrome's toolbar, find
"onetoeight." in the list, and click the pin beside it so the icon stays
   visible.

6. Click the onetoeight icon. The panel opens on the right hand side.

HOW TO USE IT
-------------
Choose any of the nine recordings and press play. Playback continues while you
move to other tabs, so you can listen while you work.

"Three quiet minutes" starts a timer. Escape stops it.

That is the whole thing. When you are finished, close the panel.

UPDATING TO A NEW VERSION
-------------------------
Download the new zip, unzip it over the old folder and replace the files, then
open chrome://extensions and press the reload arrow on the onetoeight card.

Newest version: 1.0.0. The number is also shown in chrome://extensions beside the
extension's name.

IF SOMETHING DOES NOT WORK
--------------------------
The panel does not open
Right-click the onetoeight icon in the toolbar and choose "Open side panel".
If the icon is missing, click the puzzle piece and pin it.

The audio will not play
The recordings stream from onetoeight.guide, so you need to be online. Check
your volume, then reload the panel.

Chrome shows an error on the extension card
Press the reload arrow on the card. If that does not fix it, remove the
extension and load it unpacked again.

PRIVACY
-------
Nothing you do in the extension is collected or sent anywhere. There are no
accounts, no analytics and no tracking. The only thing it asks the network for is
the audio you choose to play, which comes from onetoeight.guide. What you listen
to, and when, stays on your own computer.
